Meet Dr Jo Coombs & her team and learn about the help offered at Join Psychology
Join Psychology is a friendly, supportive and professional practice run by Dr Jo Coombs, a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 17 years of practical experience in mental health, psychological wellbeing, relationships and neurodevelopmental conditions. We have a number of Associates who support our bespoke, high-quality neurodevelopmental assessments. Some Associates offer in-person appointments and others work solely online.
Susan Maloney, Administrator and Business Support
Susan Maloney provides administrative and business support for Join Psychology. Susan is our ‘Support Star,’ helping to streamline all of our administrative duties and will most likely be your first point of contact when you get in touch with us.
Susan has many years’ experience in supporting private clinical psychology practices, doctors, psychiatrists and diagnostic assessment centres, providing a wide range of medical practice management and marketing services.
Dr Katy Stevens, Clinical Psychologist
Katy is a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years’ experience working within the NHS and private sector. Katy has extensive specialist experience of working with people who have experienced recent and historic traumatic events and may be struggling with the effects of these traumas on their day to day lives.
Katy is also experienced in working with neurodivergence, providing autism and ADHD assessments for adolescents and adults, supporting individuals to explore their unique profile and build an understanding of their strengths, difficulties and future support needs.
Dr Katie Ireland, Clinical Psychologist
Dr Katie Ireland is a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the and the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). Katie has a range of clinical and research experience working with neurodivergent people across the lifespan. In her previous role in a specialist eating disorder service in the NHS, Katie worked with many young women with undiagnosed Autism who were struggling with their eating. This sparked Katie’s special interest in supporting people to develop a positive autistic identity. Katie prioritises the development of strong and supportive therapeutic relationships with her clients in all aspects of her work.
Dr Jessica Townsend, Clinical Psychologist
Dr Jessica Townsend is a chartered clinical psychologist, specialising in working with individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions across the lifespan. Jessica has many years of experience working with children and adults with neurodiversity, including Autism, ADHD and learning disability, as well as those with mental health difficulties. Throughout her career she has worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient NHS services, research studies and forensic services, meaning she is confident working with highly varied presentations and a range of clinical severity. Jessica continues to work as a senior clinical psychologist within the NHS, alongside her private practice.
Nassib Jawad, Assistant Psychologist
Holding a master's degree in Theory and Practice in Clinical Psychology and Graduate Membership status with The British Psychological Society, Nassib is dedicated to contributing to the development of evidence-based psychological therapies. As a researcher, Nassib has explored various higher-order cognitive functions as potential strategies for managing the psychological outcomes of chronic pain conditions.
Charlie Giles, Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst
Charlie is a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), working with both children, adolescents and adults. Charlie completed her Masters in Behaviour Analysis in 2008 and became a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) in 2009. Charlie is registered with the Behaviour Analysis Certification Board (BACB) and the UK Society for Behaviour Analysts (UK SBA).

Natalie Crouch, Speech and Language Therapist
Natalie is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SLT), registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT). Natalie has worked with autism throughout her career across a variety of age ranges and in a variety of locations around the world in school settings, clinics, and residential settings. She is passionate about neurodiverse affirming practice, identification, and support.
